For many years Agfa Graphics has a market-leading position in Newspaper Workflow with Arkitex. At WPE 2015, Agfa Graphics will be showing the very latest in newspaper prepress workflows: Arkitex Production

17.09.2015 – With its single, integrated user interface, Agfa Graphics’ Arkitex Production keeps all departments informed about the operations and their status, offering faster turnaround and increased productivity. Based on HTML5, Arkitex Production can be accessed, with full control, from any computer platform that supports a browser. Because the new interface is so easy to use, it allows operators to work with it after minimal training.

Maik Hofsink from Grafschafter Nachrichten refers to the Flip Book feature in Arkitex Production.

Arkitex Production includes a new web-based planning tool, designed to be swift, and extremely intuitive to use.

Customers using Arkitex Production have been giving positive feedback. Maik Hofsink, Managing Director at Grafschafter Nachrichten in Nordhorn, Germany has commented on the most recent version:
"Arkitex Production is very stable. The single login is simple and gives access to all functionality. The ‘Flipbook View’ and the high-resolution preview help to make the daily production fast and reliable. We love the ability to see both pages and forms; it helps different users to structure the workflow process. In addition, the option to re-send ink zones is very helpful.”

At the show, Agfa Graphics will also give a preview of new features like the ability to adjust image position on-the-fly in a template. New is also is “Press Knowledge”, where an operator can choose to use a press-oriented look at the production run from the Arkitex interface.

Arkitex Production is complemented by Arkitex Enhance, a range of powerful add-on products for quality enhancement, also providing better cost control, improved print production efficiency and superb print quality. Arkitex Enhance includes IntelliTune for image enhancement and optimization, Veripress for soft-proofing at the press console, OptiInk for maximum ink saving, and Sublima screening for clear sharp images. New is the stand-alone OptiColor Server, which provides intelligent and automated color transformations between print standards.

“The next-generation newspaper publisher needs the next-generation newspaper prepress software. Arkitex gives publishers the ability to operate with greater economy and helps to meet ever-tightening deadlines and quality demands,” said Barry Landsberg, Arkitex Marketing Manager, Agfa Graphics. “For many consumers around the world printed newspapers are the most obvious and reliable sources of news and advertising. Yet printed newspapers exist side by side with digital alternatives. Arkitex Production helps publishers be competitive and better respond to readers’ needs in print.

Arkitex Production will be demonstrated at the World Publishing Expo 2015 in Hamburg, Germany in October and will be available early 2016
