Oosterhout, 3rd December 2015 – Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing is one of the largest newspaper publishers in the Indian state of Kerala. One of its fourteen printing plants, in Calicut, has three Japanese TKS printing presses. Recently, the organisation decided to expand its production facilities with a fourth new TKS. Through effective communication with the customer, the printing press manufacturer and various agencies, Q.I. Press Controls was able to present Mathrubhumi and TKS with a convincing argument for the mRC-3D colour register. The result: Mathrubhumi asked TKS to have the new printing press fitted with the Q.I. Press Controls’ system. Seeing as this was the first time Q.I. Press Controls has worked together with Mathrubhumi and TKS, the organisation is hopeful of a successful partnership.

Q.I. Press Controls came into contact with Mathrubhumi and TKS almost at the same time. In India, Q.I. Press Controls and its local agent Krause Biagosch India had been constantly seeking new leads at Mathrubhumi. During a visit to the plant in Calicut, Vijay Pandya, managing director of QIPC – EAE India, gave a presentation in which he demonstrated that Mathrubhumi would be able to work more efficiently and effectively using the mRC-3D. It wasn’t completely by chance that Mathrubhumi was looking to buy a new printing press at the time.

In Japan, Q.I. Press Controls had for a long time been pursuing new leads at TKS. At the very moment Mathrubhumi opted for the new TKS press, contacts between Q.I. Press Controls and TKS were so well entrenched thanks to the hard work of Krause Biagosch that TKS consented to Mathrubhumi’s request to install the TKS with Q.I. Press Controls’ colour register.

Thanks to the excellent working partnership, twelve mRC-3D cameras for colour register were installed on the new TKS printing presses with six towers and two folders. The cameras are fitted with Automatic Ink Mist Shields (AIMS).

According to Mathrubhumi, the organisation plumped for Q.I. Press Controls because of its local support and service, the well-established relationship and the possibility of having the system upgraded. The mRC-3D brings about significant savings in waste and offers a fully flexible system. Mathrubhumi has expressed an interest in various optional extras, such as cut-off control, and at a later stage plans to invest in the IDS-3D colour control. Vijay Pandya is optimistic the order will mark the beginning of a long-term partnership. He believes that, when Krause Biagosch India continues its hard work, the three already existing TKS printing presses will also be equipped with Q.I. Press Controls in the future. His conclusion: “Once again, the name of Q.I. Press Controls has become associated with one of the leading printing companies in India. It gives us a great sense of pride.”
