Oosterhout, 15 December 2015 – Offsettrykkeriet Midtjylland - OTM for short - is a Denmark-based printing company which is constantly striving to upgrade its equipment to meet the demands of the modern age. The company is the only printing company in Denmark which has ever been a Member of WAN-IFRA's International Newspaper Color Quality Club and is relentless in its search for new ways of raising the quality of its products. For several years, OTM has been keeping a close eye on the development of the Q.I. Press Controls cut-off register system. During the 2015 World Publishing Expo in Hamburg, OTM finally took the plunge and ordered the mRC-3D cut-off register for its printing plant in Ikast. This represents OTM’s third order with Q.I. Press Controls.

Fltr.: Jarl Söderqvist (Sales Manager Piculell & Söderqvist), Erwin van Rossem (Head of Sales QIPC), Frank Haberstroh (Production Manager OTM), Jack Rasmussen (Pre-press Manager OTM) and Claes Piculell (Managing Director Piculell & Söderqvist).

Over the coming weeks, Q.I. Press Controls will be installing 10 mRC-3D cut-off register cameras with IMS (Ink Mist Shield) on the two EAE-controlled Goss Universal 45 newspaper printing presses with a total of eight towers and one folder with twelve webs. This means that two of the twelve paper webs will continue to be regulated by the existing IRS cameras. Q.I. Press Controls will upgrade the hardware already in place. The upshot of all this is that OTM will be able to achieve quicker make-ready times, guarantee high-quality printing and reduce waste.

The collaboration between Q.I. Press Controls and OTM started in 2004. Frank Haberstroh, production manager at OTM, feels that the partnership has proved both propitious and profitable: “The cooperation between the two organisations is perfect. Q.I. Press Controls is pretty familiar with our plant and understands what our needs are.” Frank Haberstroh explains that the collaboration with QIPC – EAE has a natural feel about about it and the prospects are lucrative. Menno Jansen, managing director of Q.I. Press Controls, is likewise positive about the collaboration with OTM. His conclusion: “The people of OTM are clear about what they want and how they want it. Their foremost concern is quality and in this respect we are one of their key suppliers. This is a big shot in the arm for Q.I. Press Controls & EAE.”
