For many years Agfa Graphics has a market-leading position in Newspaper Workflow with Arkitex. At drupa 2016, Agfa Graphics will be showing the very latest in newspaper prepress workflows: Arkitex Production.

Mortsel, Belgium, May 27, 2016 – Arkitex Production is the latest generation of Newspaper workflow. It keeps all departments informed about the operations and their status thanks to a single, integrated user interface, offering faster turnaround and increased productivity. Key features are the web-based planning tool and Plate Layout Manager, designed to be swift and extremely intuitive to use, extended tracking based on bar-code input, and integrated Ink Key pre-setting. Based on HTML5, Arkitex Production can be accessed with full control from any computer platform and a browser.

With Arkitex Production Agfa Graphics shows the very latest in newspaper workflows.

At the show, Agfa Graphics will preview the newest features of Version 2. These include the ability to adjust image position in a plate template on-the-fly. Also new is “Press Knowledge”, where an operator can choose to use a press-oriented view of the production run from the Arkitex interface. The new cloud capability offers a secure connection to local resources, and also a pre-staging feature that buffers images so that production can continue in the exceptional case that the cloud connection is temporarily interrupted.

A range of powerful add-on products for quality enhancement complement Arkitex Production, also providing better cost control, improved print production efficiency, and superb print quality. This includes Arkitex Enhance IntelliTune, for image enhancement and optimization, OptiInk for maximum ink saving, Sublima screening for clear sharp image, and the stand-alone OptiColor Server, which provides intelligent and fully automated color transformations for all print standards.  New features are the resolution-independent sharpening feature, the enhanced skin tone handling and the addition of simplified Mac-capable Web-based monitoring clients.

Arkitex Production will be demonstrated at drupa in Düsseldorf Hall 8A, Germany in May 31st – June 10th, and is available today.
