19.09.11 - At Vorarlberger Medienhaus, EasySert has been readying supplements for distribution to all Vorarlberg households since the beginning of the year as part of a direct-mail programme.
Vorarlberger Medienhaus is one of Europe’s most innovative media companies. In 1993, for example, start up of the Geoman No. 1 allowed the company to produce all of the Vorarlberger Nachrichten in four colours for the first time. But the company has consistently taken a pioneering role not only in terms of technology; in marketing and distribution, too, the Vorarlberger team has continuously managed to make the running.
A further strength of Vorarlberger Medienhaus is without doubt its extensive distribution system. A 1000+ delivery team guarantees made-to-measure solutions for its own publications – and to an increasing degree for third-party products, too. Since the start of 2011, one customer has been using Vorarlberger Medienhaus’ distribution expertise for delivery of a brochure to all 137,000 Vorarlberg households.
To get such a volume ready for dispatch with a maximum of five inserts efficiently, the company has upgraded its mailroom technology with a Ferag EasySert for 4-in-1 production. The investment decision came after an intensive evaluation phase. With a maximum speed of 25,000 copies per hour, EasySert led the field by a clear margin compared with other solutions. “On average, we achieve a performance of 23,000 copies per hour – a throughput that we are very happy with”, is how Print Manager Raimund Meusburger summarizes his experience.
Vorarlberger Medienhaus also sees EasySert as a springboard into semi-commercial production. “For us, the expansion options for trimming, stitching and card-gluing were very important. Only Ferag could give us such an opportunity”, Raimund Meusburger emphasizes.
