Wenzhou Daily has placed an order with Ferag Verfahrenstechnik GmbH in Leipzig to supply two STR-100 conveyors. They will be installed this year on the two folder deliveries of a Solna D480, connecting to two compensating stackers each equipped with a JobStrap N for the cross strap.

With its four daily newspapers Wenzhou Daily, Wenzhou Evening News, Wenzhou City News and Wenzhou Business News, Wenzhou Daily can be counted among China’s ten biggest newspaper houses.

The requirement for greater capacity and space is being met with state-of-the-art technology in a new building on a 90,000 M2 site. Until now, Wenzhou Daily has been producing its newspapers at two different locations, but will in future bring press and postpress together in the new printing centre. When choosing the new production technology, the management and technicians at Wenzhou Daily took a very close look at the offering; in addition to aspects like efficiency and quality, decisive factors were Ferag’s position in the marketplace, its conceptional approach involving system solutions, and the well-established, dynamic local service organization that backs the technology.

For Wenzhou Daily, the current project is the biggest investment in the newspaper’s history. But the company has further ambitious plans. One of them envisages a move into magazine production. The new building has been designed so that, when the time comes, the technical infrastructure can be expanded in line with the new requirements.
