By using this option, the editor can save a significant amount of time in the production of these two digital versions

25.09.12 - The same way of browsing, the same way of viewing and the same digital newsstand. This is what has been achieved by the universal viewer for iPad and iPhone, developed by Protecmedia. This viewer allows editors, if they so wish, to publish on these two devices without having to prepare two different versions. Instead, the starting point is a single edition, which can be shown to the reader within a single newsstand.

This, then, is a significant technological advance which allows editors to save a great deal of time in the production of these versions. Using the same data package, the editor can produce the editions for iPad and iPhone, since the viewer adjusts this information to the characteristics and specific features of the two devices. The net result is that only one production process and one workflow is required, with the obvious benefits that this offers the editor.

Thus, the reader may be offered the two editions of the publication through the same newsstand. This improves his experience, offering him fast and easy access to the different versions, receiving the publication on the device selected, without the need to wait, and avoiding any complications caused by each device’s dimensions or capacities.
