Michal Klíma is a senior media executive. Most of his professional life he worked as top executive in newspaper publishing business. He has been president and board member of the Czech Publishers Association (which he co-founded in 1991). For over twenty years he has been member of the board and the executive committee of the World Association of Newspapers.

In 2013 he established Tablet Media, Prague-based publishing house specialized in tablet-only publications. Its first magazine – weekly DOTYK (The Touch) was awarded The Best in Tablet Publishing in the European Digital Media Awards by WAN-IFRA. DOTYK was also awarded The Magazine of the Year in the contest organized by the Czech Publishers’ Association and The Best Tablet App of the year in the Czech Republic.

Since 2011 till 2012 he worked in Slovakia as the CEO of Spoločnosť 7 Plus, Slovak Publishing house with a daily newspaper, three weeklies and dozen of monthlies.

Since 1998 till 2008 he managed Economia, the leading Czech business press publishing house - publisher of Hospodářské noviny, Ekonom, Respekt, Marketing & Media and dozen other publications.

Michal Klíma managed the team, which built up Lidové Noviny, the first independent publishing company after the fall of communism in Czechoslovakia, with newspaper, magazines and book editions. He was general manager of Lidové Noviny since 1990 till 1997.

Michal graduated on the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1984. In 1993 he passed the Senior Newspaper Management Course on Medill School of Journalism and Northwestern University Chicago, Il, USA.
Beyond his executive positions he was also a non-executive member and a chairman of boards of distribution and publishing companies.
