His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Arkansas State University in Arkansas, U.S.A. and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan, U.S.A. 

His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi has become a member of the Sharjah Executive Council since 2006.

His key achievements in the media sector include:

• Establishing and restructuring Sharjah Media Corporation in 2009 and placing Sharjah TV, Sharjah Radio, Sharjah Sports Channel and Sharjah Media Training Centre under its umbrella
• Launching the International Government Communication Forum in 2011
• Establishing Sharjah Media Centre’s Government Communication Unit in 2011
• Launching the Sharjah Government Communication Award in 2012
• Establishing Al Sharqiya TV in 2012
• Establishing Sharjah Government Communication Network in 2013
• Establishing Al Majaz Amphitheatre in 2014
• Establishing Sharjah24.ae in 2015
• Launching of Sharjah Events website, SharjahEvents.ae, in 2016

He has held a number of senior positions including:

• Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Petroleum Council since 1999
• Chairman of Sharjah Pipeline Company “Anabeeb” since 2003
• Chairman of Basma Group since 2005
• Member of the board of directors of Dana Gas since 2005
• Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation since 2010
• Chairman of Sharjah National Oil Company since 2010
• Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre since 2011
• Chairman of Sharjah General Services Company “Khadamat” since 2013
• Chairman of Tilal Properties since 2014

He has also held senior positions in the environmental sector, including:

• Chairman of Green Planet LLC. since 2005
• Chairman of the Medical Waste Company “Wekaya” LLC. since 2010

He has numerous achievements in the development of Sharjah’s tourism and culture sector, including:

• Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club (2002-2011)
• Holding the position of Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority – SCTDA (2006-2012)
• Inauguration of Sharjah Water Festival and F1 Powerboat Race (2007)
• Inauguration of Sharjah Light Festival (2011)
