The first Sri Lankan woman to be editor of a daily newspaper in Sri Lanka, Champika has been the editor of the country’s largest selling English daily, the Daily Mirror, since January 2007. Under her the Daily Mirror became the first Sri Lankan newspaper to do round the clock breaking news on web in 2007 and mobile on 2009. Three years into her editorship in 2010 she managed to double the circulation of her paper.
