Bill started his magazine career at Hearst magazines both working both here and in the US. Highlights included the launch of Country Living, the launch of Esquire and five years as publisher of Harpers & Queen. Leaving Hearst in 2001, Bill joined Conde Nast as Publisher of Conde Nast Traveller and joined GQ in 2005. During this time Bill has worked on the launch of Wired, the launch of GQ Style and most recently overseen the development of the magazines publication on the ipad where it is generally regarded as one of the best in the world delivering remarkable download and revenue figures.

Bill was on the board of the national Magazine Company and is a Director of Conde Nast.
