D. D. Purkayastha is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABP Pvt Ltd., overseeing the strategy and operations of the entire ABP portfolio. He is also the Chairman of INFOCOM.

He is a Director of MCCS, (Broadcasting company for ABP News, ABP Ananda and ABP Majha).

He is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant and has more than 37 years of experience in the industry of which 34 years have been with ABP Pvt. Ltd. He is also one of the leading IT professionals of the country.

Mr. Purkayastha is the Chairman of the Central Advisory Council and a member of the Board and Executive Committee of WAN-IFRA, the newspaper association with large footprint in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Purkayastha is the Vice President of the International Newsmedia Association (INMA) South Asia. The association has strong presence in the Americas, Asia and Australasia.
