After completing his studies of journalism in Leipzig, Thomas Kaulfuß joined the Sächsische Zeitung Dresden as a local editor.
Since 1989 he has worked as a political editor for the general editorial office of the Sächsische Zeitung. In his function as Deputy Head of the Political Desk, he is responsible for editorial production.
In addition, since November 2012,  working as project manager he has been preparing the introduction of the Sächsische Zeitung iPad and Tablet app.
