Originally from San Francisco, Ali is a Paris-based journalist at Radio France International and an advisor on the volunteer WAN-IFRA Youth Council. She previously worked in WAN-IFRA's press freedom and young reader divisions before receiving a Master's in Journalism from Columbia University in 2010. She then ran Children's PressLine, a news content service by youth reporters for customers such as New York Daily News and PBS News Hour, while also freelancing for ABC News Radio. Most recently, she was a researcher and editor of theWorld Editor's Forum report “Online Comment Moderation: Emerging Best Practices.
