For any newspaper, standardised high quality newspaper production is crucial for attracting advertisers. In order to achieve this goal, common process control procedures and country wide standards have to be established and practiced. These activities should be based on proven standards, like ISO 12647-3.
WAN-IFRA introduced the ISO 12647-3 standard in India through its ICONS project in 2004 and repeated the project in 2007 for the benefit of more publishers in India. The project is now back for the third time with an aim to help all the Indian publishers to print in conformance with ISO 12647-3. This project will bring all the like-minded newspapers together and help them to achieve high quality levels based on proven standards
