Leila Nachawati is a Madrid-based communication strategist and human rights activist. She is a professor of Communications at Carlos III University. A frequent writer of human rights promotion, the threats against freedom of expression and the social dimension of technology for several media such as Global Voices Online,  Global Voices Advocacy and Al-Jazeera, she is one of the co-founders of Syria Untold, a new independent digital media project exploring the storytelling of the Syrian struggle and the country's diverse forms of resistance.
