Peter Barron

Director of Communications for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Google

Peter Barron has been Director of Communications for Europe, Middle East and Africa for Google since July 2013.  He joined Google in 2008 and was previously Director of Communications and Public Affairs for North and Central Europe and from 2011 Director of External Relations, EMEA.

Before joining Google he was editor of BBC2's Newsnight from 2004-2008 and worked in TV News and Current Affairs for nearly twenty years.
He has also been deputy editor at Channel 4 News and Tonight with Trevor McDonald and devised and edited the BBC Current Affairs drama-documentary series If...
He is a governor of the National Film and Television School and sits on the council of the Edinburgh TV Festival.
