Chris Lee became President of Deseret Digital Media (DDM) in 2013 after previously serving as General Manager of DeseretNews.com and Publisher of the Deseret News from 2010 to 2012.

With CEO Clark Gilbert and Editor Paul Edwards, Chris led Deseret News through a major restructuring, followed by a period of rapid growth in both print circulation and digital audience. Chris also oversees Deseret Digital Media’s flagship property KSL.com, the top local broadcast media property in the United States, coupling news content with a robust classifieds marketplace, as well as Deseret Connect, a remote-contributor content management platform that generates thousands of stories per month for both print and digital, and for DDM syndication partners.

Chris led the acquisition of Utah.com, the leading resource for Utah travel, as well as the launch of OK.com, a media guide for families.  In 2012, DDM also launched family resource sites FamilyShare.com, Familias.com, and Familia.com.br along with building over 200 social channels in Facebook and Twitter that have generated more than 50 million followers.

Each month, these sites serve more than 10 million unique visitors with more than 300 million page views. Overall DDM cumulative annual revenue growth since 2010 has exceeded 35%.

Prior to Deseret Digital, Chris was the Chairman and CEO of Heritage Makers, a consumer on-demand publisher of photo books, featured as one of America’s fastest growing companies by Inc Magazine (Inc 500) and one of Oprah’s Favorite Gifts in O Magazine. Heritage Makers was acquired by Youngevity in 2013.

 Previously, Chris worked as Director of New Business Development at Ancestry.com, a leading digital subscription service, where he also served as Product Director for MyFamily.com.

Chris holds a BA with Honors from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.  He serves on the boards of the Local Media Association and the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, as well as volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. 

 

Chris and his wife Kristen are the parents of five children. They enjoy sports, travel, and visiting the outdoor wonders of Utah.
