Mike Condon

Production Manager Al Nisr Publishing

Mike Condon has been in the printing industry for more than 33 years.

He began his printing career with John Fairfax & Sons, publishers of The Sydney Morning Herald, where he worked for 10 years, finally in the position of shift supervisor.

He then purchased his own newsagency in Sydney and operated the business for 4 years, marking a major change from printing to selling newspapers.

This was followed by a return to printing, working as shift supervisor at The Canberra Times in Canberra, where a new press was installed, going from a Goss letterpress to MAN Geoman offset press.

Mike Condon stayed at The Canberra Times for 8 years before moving to Ballarat to manage the Rural Press Ballarat print site for nearly 7 years. In his first year, the company moved to a greenfield site and installed and commissioned a nine-tower MAN Uniset press.

In 2009 he was offered the opportunity to move to Dubai and become the production manager for Al Nisr Publishing, a position in which he continues to work today.

In June 2012, Al Nisr Publishing commissioned a Cortina waterless press for a greenfield site, the first such installation outside of Europe .
