On 16 June the Druckzentrum Rhein Main (DRM) in Rüsselsheim was officially inaugurated. The ceremony was attended by some 400 guests from business, culture and politics – including Volker Bouffier, Prime Minister of the State of Hesse, and Eveline Lemke, Minister for Economics, Rhineland-Palatinate.

Since November 2010, 330,000 copies of the daily newspapers "Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung", "Wiesbadener Kurier" and "Darmstädter Echo" as well as all sub-editions of the Verlagsgruppe Rhein Main and Medienhaus Südhessen have been produced daily at the "Blauer See" industrial estate in Rüsselsheim. In addition, freesheets and contract jobs are also produced. The two publishing houses have invested about 100 million euros in the printing centre.

"The investment shows that both publishing houses believe in the future of newspapers", said Bouffier.
