EidosMedia - responding is David Baker, Communications Manager

WAN-IFRA: Why is it an exciting time for you as a supplier to be working in the newspaper and media industry?

Baker: This is an interesting time for many news publishers. After a decade and more of wrenching change in which their operations have been fragmented by the demands of new channels and platforms, many of them have finally succeeded in restoring unity and efficiency to their publishing process. Part of our mission at EidosMedia has been to enable this re-integration of the news publishing process and it has been very satisfying to see our customers manage this successfully.

WAN-IFRA: What do you anticipate to be the leading wishlists from your customers coming to Expo?

Baker: Having achieved this integration, our customers want to maintain it while reaching into new areas. We’re therefore expecting interest in our second-generation tablet publishing and new social media interface. At the same time, publishers need to keep track of newsroom processes that are now quite complex, so we have a new business intelligence tool called Méthode Smart. The use of mobile devices by reporters and editors in the field is an area that excited much interest last year when we showed a sneak preview of Méthode Memo – this has now been released for iPhone and iPad and we will be showing it in action at the Expo.

gogol medien - Matthias Möller, Founder & Marketing Director

WAN-IFRA: What will your highlights be in the area of editorial at Expo?

Möller: With the gogol Publishing Cloud, local publishers can become the no. 1 on all channels - from the printed newspaper to the online portal, up to mobile devices and tablet apps. Visitors can become acquainted with all functions of the gogol medien solutions "live" on the stand. There will also be information on the topic of citizen reporters which gogol medien has gained from working together with 25 publishing houses and more than 200,000 citizen reporters.
