KBA Report no. 42 out now

KBA Report 42 presents a diversity of technical information on topics from across the print industry, as well as interesting practice reports from users all over the world.

13.03.13 - The new issue of the KBA customer magazine is just a few days old, and KBA Report 42 is once again packed with a practice-oriented kaleidoscope of technical innovations, applications and business models from the international print scene.

The front page article is devoted to the convincing demonstration of print quality and performance by the high-speed ink-jet web press KBA RotaJET 76 at the recent Hunkeler Innovation Days in Lucerne, Switzerland. In a current interview with Gerd Bergmann, plant manager Patrick Zürcher from Freiburger Druck and KBA project manager Peter Benz talk about quality optimisation and about the new markets opened up for coldset print by the option of inline coating on the waterless KBA Cortina. Another article looks into the productivity benefits to be achieved by commercial web presses designed for short-grain production, such as the new C48 SG and C56 SG (SG = Short Grain) from KBA.

Alongside numerous user reports, the thematic focus for the sheetfed offset sector is placed on the latest developments for print quality control and on modern, energy-saving UV dryer technologies. The new PSO-Match module for the colour control systems KBA QualiTronic and KBA ErgoTronic is introduced as a valuable tool for print production in compliance with the ProcessStandard Offset. Klaus-Dieter Marquart, technical manager at Melter-Druck in Mühlacker reports on his experience with inline colour control on a new Rapida 106 using QualiTronic ColorControl and Instrument Flight® von System Brunner. In another technical article, KBA provides information on the newly developed modules for HR and LED-UV drying, and discusses their possibilities and limitations in sheetfed offset production. Further reports address the market segments metal decorating, ink-jet marking systems and UV speciality print covered by KBA subsidiary companies.

KBA Report 42 is available in German, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
