Ringsted, 29 July 2015 – In December 2013, the Danish founded GKS established an after sales facility to cover the UK and Ireland market. Our local presence in the UK has given us a very good insight of UK market potential in the past year, and to be sure to sufficiently cover the needs of the British prepress market, an agreement to acquire a 40 % stake in LPS Ltd. has been signed today.

LPS has for many years been known for providing professional first class prepress services to the British prepress industry. LPS are specialists in the installation and service of graphic prepress equipment, and the acquisition strengthens GKS as the leading provider of maintenance and support services in Northern Europe, UK and USA for both OEM customers, and their clients in the offset and packaging industries.

Geoff Hinton, partner in LPS: “We see a lot of opportunities in the UK to supply honest, genuine, and professional after sales service to the prepress industry. Being part of the GKS Group will develop our organisation through a sharing of technical knowledge – all to help keep our customers up and running 24‐7.”

GKS was founded in 1990 by Klaus Olsen and today it is the largest prepress service provider in Scandinavia and the UK with a high degree of equipment specialisation within offset and flexo prepress, processing, CtP and iCtP.

GKS has also expanded into the USA in June 2015 with 40 trained technicians, and this is all part of a GKS plan to increase the business coverage to ultimately include the rest of mainland Europe.

Over the years, GKS has built strong relationships in Scandinavia offering first class services to suppliers such as Agfa‐Gevaert, Fujifilm, Heidelberg and Kodak.

Services that GKS can offer include:
– installation and commission of new equipment
– maintenance and/or service contracts
– emergency on‐site support
– general trouble shooting
– hotline service support
– supplies of original spare parts
– service to all major equipment brands, including non‐Glunz & Jensen manufactured equipment

Note: GKS uses only original spare parts in order to ensure highest possible performance and reliability for their customers.
