Environmental sustainability with no compromise in quality

Prostějov/Czech Republic, September 1, 2016 – Toray Industries Inc., a leading manufacturer of waterless offset plate technology, will be exhibiting at the upcoming WAN-IFRA World Publishing Expo 2016, taking place from 10-12 October at the Reed Messe Wien in Vienna. The show is expected to draw broad global attendance and is designed as a venue for attendees to discover innovative ideas and solutions for mobile, web and print publishing – in one place, at one event. Toray will be located on Stand C.685 at the show.

TWP 1250 News: Built on 25 years of processor and ancillary equipment manufacturing experience.

New waterless plates “Add value to print!”
“We are looking forward to talking to the leading newspaper printers that will be attending this event, and we are confident that visitors to our stand will be impressed with what can be achieved with the new newspaper plates in our plate product portfolio. We think even more Coldset printing houses will be persuaded to switch to waterless offset printing based on what they see at the show,” said Mitsunori Hayashi, General Manager of the Graphics Division in the Czech Republic. “These new plates are specifically designed to enable Coldset production to cost-effectively produce high quality commercial applications with a reduced environmental footprint.”

Toray will introduce two new plate types for the Coldset printing segment: a high-resolution plate and an extra-durable plate.

Hayashi reports that these new plates are on the result of development advancements in Toray’s renowned, proprietary polymer technology that customers have come to count on for achieving the best offset print quality. The plates are manufactured in the Toray factory in the Czech Republic using a similar production process as the one used in Japan but modified to meet the specific needs of Newspaper and semi-commercial production.

New Toray Waterless Plate Chemistry
As the printing industry increasingly moves toward a sustainable future, reducing the impact on the environment is one of the hot topics of discussion among printers and suppliers alike. Toray has been working hard to develop even more innovative approaches to sustainability. The result is new plate processing chemicals that reduces plate chemistry consumption, and the associated waste and cost. Toray waterless plates and Toray plate processing systems offer a competitive alternative to processing products being available in the market today, as well as a more environmentally sustainable approach.
