September 20, 2016 – Absolutely punctual and reliable processes paired with expertise for disassembly and reassembly: Relocating a printing press is challenging. manroland web systems successfully relocated a Uniset newspaper press within the city of Warsaw to the printing plant of the ZPR Media media company within a very short space of time.

“For this project less than five months passed between signing the contract and putting the press into operation, including all approvals“, the manroland web systems project manager Christof Centmayer explains. “A challenge that let us bring to bear all of our competence as a press manufacturer.” A 20 year old UNISET newspaper press with five printing towers, six reel splicers, two folders and a quarter fold was successfully relocated from the manroland web systems customer Polskapresse/Multico to the new customer ZPR Media. The relocation comprised the complete disassembly and reassembly of the UNISET as well as its mechanical and electrical start-up and first production including all electronic switching systems and control consoles.

For ZPR Media the smooth and fast execution of the project was of utmost importance, as Managing Director Tomasz Szakiel emphasises: “The relocation was strenuous for everyone involved, everyone had to perform well. We were under time pressure for operational reasons. The project teams cooperated perfectly, which made the record assembly time of eight weeks possible. It was our first project with manroland web systems and therefore an excellent start for our business partnership.” The UNISET now prints newspapers like the high-circulation paper Super Express at ZPR Media.
