21.09.2017 – When it was time for The New York Times to expand the palletizing area at their printing plant in New York, it was a natural step to send a request to the Swedish manufacturer Schur Packaging Systems AB. After six Winrob III palletizers from Schur have already been successfully in operation for more than ten years and The New York Times has now decided to invest in two additional Winrob III systems.

Robust Design and Reliable Technology
“The Winrob III has proved itself as a reliable “working bull” over the years”, explains Mr. D’ Andrea, Executive Director - Production at The New York Times. “Every day, we are distributing Daily and Sunday newspapers from our printing facility in New York. This means that the palletizers have to be able to reliably process bundles weighing up to 20kg with a bundle height of up to 380mm without weakening. Our experience over the past few years has shown that the Winrob III palletizer from Schur manages this challenge without any problems”. Mr. D’ Andrea continues.

The Schur WINROB III palletizers are, as standard, equipped with a slip sheet applicator so that bundles containing newspapers with many supplements can also be palletized stably and trouble free.

Successful Collaboration
The new WINROB III palletizer that Schur will supply and install at the beginning of 2018 will replace older palletizers of another brand.

“We are looking forward to continuing our successful collaboration with The New York Times, which has been a highly valued customer for us for many years now”, Mr. Grandin, MD at Schur Packaging Systems, concludes.
