Rod Kenning

Group General Manager, Polaris Media, Australien

Rod Kenning  began his media career in radio, working for Australia's government broadcaster The ABC. Making the switch to print in the early ’90s, Rod started at The Australian Jewish News in Sydney, NSW, as production manager, taking the paper from traditional paste-up to full pdf workflow - the first small publisher in Australia to make this leap. With a brief stint as an Art Director at EMAP (now ACP magazines), Rod returned to the Jewish News, taking on the role of national production manager with responsibility for both the Sydney and Melbourne graphics departments. Transferring to head office in Melbourne in 1999 (and just missing the Sydney Olympics!), Rod was appointed National Operations Manager with full responsibility for all publishing from editorial to graphics to distribution. 2011 saw the launch of the Jewish News' iPad edition - a venture that broke even financially within four months of publication, and has lead to his current role as head of digital development in a new business venture for the company: Polaris Media.
