Vasily Gatov is a Deputy CEO of RIA Novosti, the major Russian news service, and the Head of MedaiLab, RIA's research and development institution. The goal of RIA Novosti MediaLab is ambitious: to collect the media and news knowledge across the global academic and corporate science spheres and find the practical application in the real life of the news companies. RIA Novosti MediaLab current projects span from semantic news applications to 3D interfaces. He also is the vice-president of The Russian Publishers Guild (GIPP).
