Hugo Jacqmain, ing.f., Ph.D. is a professional forester with graduate studies in integrated and sustainable forest resource management. He is currently the Director of Aboriginal Affairs for Québec’s Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks. During this period, he had the opportunity to network with national and international partners and produced scientific papers on sustainable forest management.  In 2007, he was hired as Senior Advisor for the Cree-Québec Forestry Board, an independent mediation body which facilitates forestry-related discussions between the Government of Québec and the Cree First Nation. Since 2009, he is working for Québec’s Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks, where he is involved in the implementation of a new provincial forest regime and in various environmental and Aboriginal files. Since 3 years, he is more particularly in charge of Aboriginal files related to the forest and wildlife sectors, including the coordination of negotiation tables and support to environmental certification of forest companies.
