Hussein Shobokshi is a Saudi businessman involved in diversified business. He is also an economic consultant and a media commentator. In the recent past he hosted his own daily TV program „Al Taqreer with Hussein Shobokshi‟ on Al Arabiya TV channel which was the leading Arab economic show.

He is also a columnist and writes for Asharq Al Awsat, the leading Arabic daily newspaper in the Middle East and publishes articles in specialized magazines and leading general interest Arabic publications such as Arab News, Saudi Gazette, Al Eqtisadiah, Al Alam Al Youm, Okaz, Al Medina and Al Nahdat newspapers.

In addition, he has featured as a media commentator in CNN, CBS, PBS, Orbit, Future, LBC, Abu Dhabi TV, Al Jazeera, ESC and MBC television shows and participated in various other TV and radio programs in Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. His views and comments also figured in the Time magazine, the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times publications. In 1995, he was chosen as one of “Global Leaders for Tomorrow” at the World Economic Forum. He was the first Saudi or Gulf businessman to be chosen in the Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum.

Recently he has been chosen as one of the few selected writers on the Washington Post blog site.

He has given and continues to give lectures in the Middle East, Europe and the U.S. The most recent programs he participated include: the Council on Foreign Relations, Middle East Institute, Georgetown University, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and Middle East Policy Council, Arab-US Media Forum in Luxor and Dubai, and Prague Forum 2000 in Prague. His topics cover socio-economic, socio-political, education and technology challenges.
