Ian joined The Malaysia Star's R.AGE team six years ago thinking it’d be fun to write music reviews and attend free concerts for a few months while waiting for his postgrad studies in London to commence. He ended up writing hard news features, issue stories and famous personality profiles and just like that, he was hooked. 

He took over as the editor of R.AGE three years later at 27, and has since been involved in the winning of six international awards with R.AGE. 

He currently manages a team of four journalists who work hard and (unfortunately) play harder, and together they handle a variety of media platforms, campaigns, events and a very popular young journalist programme. That’s a lotta stuff for a tiny team, but it’s all for the same big goal – to be the voice of Malaysian youth.
