Joined Kompas Daily in 1983, and started his career in the Political and Security Desk, by specializing on ASEAN and Indochina issues.

In 1991, was appointed as Head of the Political and Security Desk, after      participating  Jefferson Fellowship in Eastwest Center, Honolulu, Hawaii.

In 1999, was appointed as Production Manager, who is responsible for the content and design of the newspaper.

In 2003, he was appointed as Head of International Affairs Desk.

And in 2005, he was reappointed as Production Manager, as well as Deputy Managing Editor.

In 2011, he was appointed as Managing Editor.
