In 1994, he started my career as an illustrator and political cartoonist at Jawa Pos. Four years later, in 1998, Indonesia entered the new era of politics and democracy, allowing anyone to publish newspaper without any legal permit from the government. Jawa Pos started to build local newspapers in every big city of Indonesia. At the same time, Jawa Pos applied the new spirit of journalism that is visual journalism, and Leak became page designer and managing editor of art and infographics departement. In 2009 he was appointed as chief editor of a local newspaper named Radar Surabaya, member of Jawa Pos group. He was chief editor of Jawa Pos from 2009 to 2014 and now has become a Jawa Pos director.
