Muharrem Yaşar has been working for more than 15 years at the Zaman daily which is a broadsheet newspaper, and has a daily circulation of about 1,000,000. Because of his engineering background, he has worked in technical department and quality departments. During the time he spent working for Zaman he has mostly concentrated on printing quality.

He contributed to various projects for the facilities of the newspaper, including the purchasing and installation of five new printing machines in 2006 and in 2008, projecting and commissioning of computer-to-plate (CTP) lines in 2009 and overseeing the transfer of existing programs to the new ERP system as well as introducing new programs in 2010-2012.

As part of his current position, as Zaman’s Quality Manager, he oversees quality engineers at printing facilities. At Zaman, quality is understood as an integrated system comprised of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and compliance with ISO standards. 

He holds an MBA degree and has the highest level of OHS national expert certificate which gives right of consultancy for the companies that categorized highly risky and lastly has become firefighting teams’ trainer.
