XV Edition - Planning the Development

WAN-IFRA Italia 2012

On the next 19 and 20 June, in Turin, on the Museum dell' Automobile, will take place the XV edition of WAN-IFRA Italia, the international conference for the publishing and newspaper industry, a joint colaboration of WAN-IFRA, FIEG (Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers), and ASIG, (Italian Association of Newspapers Printers).

The edition of this year has as a main theme “Planning the development” and it proposes to deepen the discussions happening across the publishing sector in this difficult phase of transition. On the topics regarding industrial production, will be the possibility, hardly a month after the conclusion of Drupa, to raise some of the matters on the trend of the latest developments and the challenges that face the printing centers regarding the reorganization and the search for efficiency.

On the editorial topics, the challenge is that of the multimedia publishing, new organizational models that breaks off the traditional organization of the printed production.

The third topic in discussion will be distribution, cross-sectional to the two other areas addressed by the event, and which resumes and deepens the debate started in the during the 2011 edition in Florence bringing light to the innovations that are taking place regarding the system of distribution of the publishing products.

The conference is planed on two days and three sessions.

In the first day, the 19 june,  there will be the session dedicated to multimedia newsrooms, while the 20 june are planed the sessions dedicated to the challenges of the industrial development and to the distribution systems.

Following the event’s tradition, during the conference the will be presented the annual report on the Italian newspaper industry, put together by  the Technical Institute “Carlo Lombardi” in collaboration with ASIG.

In the evening of the 19 june will take place the traditional evening event of WAN-IFRA Italia, which will be a supper at the Mole Antonelliana, with a special visit to the Museum of the Cinema and the possibility to admire the panorama of the Alps from the dome of the Mole.

At the conclusion of the conference, on the 20 june, it will be possible to visit the Museum dell' Automobile, where WAN-IFRA Italia will take place in 2012
