2019-03-22 10:30Kinna, March 21th, 2019 – Norwegian newspaper Sunnhordland Trykkeri, located in the town of Leirvik on the island of Stord on the Norwegian west coast, has contracted with DCOS for an extensive press addition and upgrade project. Sunnhordland Trykkeri is a privately-owned newspaper and printshop and one of the few in Scandinavia who is independent from the larger groups. 2019-03-18 12:57Würzburg, 18th March 2019 – DuMont and Koenig & Bauer are set to continue a successful partnership which has already lasted for more than 180 years. Halle-based subsidiary MZ Druckereigesellschaft mbH is purchasing a further Commander CL from Koenig & Bauer. It is a little over two years ago that the company’s last investment, likewise a Commander CL, came on stream. “Our current press offers all the essential prerequisites for success: A high level of automation, reliability, exceptional flexibility and fast makeready. It was clear that we would continue along the chosen road with Koenig & Bauer at our side,” says MZ managing director Bernd Preuße. The new Commander CL will enter production in the fourth quarter of 2019. Since the initial market launch just a few years ago, Koenig & Bauer has now sold 27 presses of this type to users in Germany, France, China and the USA, and it is currently the most frequently ordered newspaper press. 2019-03-12 12:2012.03.2019 – technotrans SE successfully completed the past financial year by increasing its diversification and focusing systematically on growth markets. The company grew revenue by 5.5 percent to EUR 216.3 million in the period under review, while operating profit (EBIT) of EUR 17.4 million remained unchanged from the previous year. The trend toward consolidation of newspaper printing centres is slowly coming to a halt, says consultant Sabine Sirach. After all, for printed daily newspapers, there are physical limitations to the distribution distances that can be covered while still being up-to-date and relevant.

The International Color Quality Club is the only worldwide printing quality competition for newspapers and magazines. Its goal is to improve the quality of reproduction and printing in production, while also increasing competitiveness as well as training and motivating all personnel. -
The Materials Management Database project was launched as a spinoff of the Newsprint and Newsink Guide. Today it is used by printers, pressroom foremen and technical management as an information source for facts and advice for dealing with the materials used in producing newspapers. Among other informaton you find the specification of the WAN-IFRA Bar Code for paper reels in this online database. Most of the entries in the database originate from the members of the Material Management Committee; some come from outside sources (as marked), after review and approval by the committee. This database is continually being updated and expanded. New entries will be marked with a label in red type.
