2018-05-09 14:50Würzburg, 9 May 2018 – In addition to a presentation by president and CEO Claus Bolza-Schünemann outlining the company’s performance in 2017 and the first quarter of 2018, details of the growth strategy being pursued and medium-term earnings targets of printing press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer AG played a key role at the company’s 93rd annual general meeting, which was presided over by supervisory board chairman Dr Martin Hoyos. In the absence of any material deterioration in global economic and political condi-tions for the international business, the management board expects to achieve organic growth of around 4% in group revenue and an EBIT margin of around 7% in 2018. With its targets for the current financial year Koenig & Bauer is on track to achieving its EBIT margin target of 9% and an organic revenue growth rate of around 4% p.a. by 2021. Read more ...

2018-05-09 11:5608.05.2018 – technotrans maintains its successful course in the new financial year: in the first quarter of 2018, the company increased its operating profit (EBT) by 4.8 percent to EUR 4.5 million. The corresponding margin improved to 8.4 percent (previous year: 8.2 percent). The company achieved revenue growth of 2.5 percent to EUR 54.1 million. 2018-05-03 13:36Würzburg, 3 May 2018 – After fully achieving and even exceeding its guidance last year thanks to strong revenue and earnings performance in the fourth quarter, the Koenig & Bauer group remains on track to meet its targets for 2018, underpinned by a high order backlog and a well filled project pipeline. In addition to good group-wide capacity utilisation, the progress that has been made in the projects for achieving further EBIT gains by 2021 is providing a solid basis. The International Color Quality Club is the only worldwide printing quality competition for newspapers and magazines. Its goal is to improve the quality of reproduction and printing in production, while also increasing competitiveness as well as training and motivating all personnel.

The Materials Management Database project was launched as a spinoff of the Newsprint and Newsink Guide. Today it is used by printers, pressroom foremen and technical management as an information source for facts and advice for dealing with the materials used in producing newspapers. Among other informaton you find the specification of the WAN-IFRA Bar Code for paper reels in this online database. Most of the entries in the database originate from the members of the Material Management Committee; some come from outside sources (as marked), after review and approval by the committee. This database is continually being updated and expanded. New entries will be marked with a label in red type.
