The new website is more clearly structured, has less text and is more dynamic, with automatic links to useful detailed background infor-mation. With its new Internet website, KBA has also responded to the rapid increase in the mobile use of the World Wide Web. The individual pages automatically adjust their representation and navigation to the out-put device being used, whether smartphone, tablet or desktop. The streamlined design without time-consuming frills as well as the editorial revision of the content are geared to a modern company and product presentation. 2016-05-12 13:5812.05.2016 – 2016 started well for the Koenig & Bauer Group (KBA). At €258.8m group revenue in the first quarter was up 46% on the prior-year figure of €177.3m. All three segments posted considerable gains in sales, with new presses for growth market packaging printing climbing to over 70% of the total. Incoming orders of €266.3m were slightly higher than revenue this quarter. The International Color Quality Club is the only worldwide printing quality competition for newspapers and magazines. Its goal is to improve the quality of reproduction and printing in production, while also increasing competitiveness as well as training and motivating all personnel.

The Materials Management Database project was launched as a spinoff of the Newsprint and Newsink Guide. Today it is used by printers, pressroom foremen and technical management as an information source for facts and advice for dealing with the materials used in producing newspapers. Among other informaton you find the specification of the WAN-IFRA Bar Code for paper reels in this online database. Most of the entries in the database originate from the members of the Material Management Committee; some come from outside sources (as marked), after review and approval by the committee. This database is continually being updated and expanded. New entries will be marked with a label in red type.
