Beatrix Beckmann graduated with an engineering degree from the Technical University Chemnitz where she studied printing presses and printing technology.

She also completed an internship at the Heiligenstadt paper mill, where she focused on technical quality, in preparation for her studies.

Following her studies, she took up a position as a scientific assistant at the Institute for Printing and Media Technology at the Technical University Chemnitz, where she specialised in printing processes, materials and material testing (ink and paper) and quality.

She has carried out numerous industrial research projects on these topics, including for the then IFRA in Darmstadt.

She worked as a lecturer at German and English-language training courses. She joined WAN-IFRA in September 2002 where she focuses on materials, quality assurance, printing quality, standardisation.

Beatrix Beckmann is a member of the German Association of Printing Engineers
