Just Published: Preview of World Publishing Expo

2012-10-16

Just in time for the upcoming World Publishing Expo in Frankfurt, Germany, the WAN-IFRA magazine is providing a preview of the event, the largest global trade exhibition for the news publishing and media industry.

The transformative nature of the newspaper and news industry will be evident in the halls of the Frankfurt Messe during the upcoming Expo, to be held from 29 to 31 October. Exhibitors will cover all aspects of publishing, and offer the latest solutions, be it for mobile/tablet, editorial/advertising or printing/postpress.

That same multimedia theme will be found in a variety of conferences and seminars taking place during World Publishing Expo (formerly IFRA Expo & Conferences), including Power of Print Focus Sessions, a Tablet & App Summit, an Advertising Summit, Media Port sessions, a FAZ Talk on paid content, and more. Programmes for all conferences and can be found at http://www.wan-ifra.org/node/44820?view=sessions

More than 250 exhibitors from 30 countries will fill more than 9,000 square meters of exhibition space, including newspaper pre-press, press and mailroom equipment manufacturers, editorial and publishing system providers and more. Around 8,000 visitors are expected to attend during the three-day event organised by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), and there is still time to join them: Full details can be found at http://www.wan-ifra.org/expo2012

Member profile: RBS Group in Brazil

“It is a fantastic time to be in Brazil, and it is an incredibly fantastic time to be a media company in Brazil. Despite our supposed comfortable position in the market, we are well aware of all the changes in consumer behaviour around the world and here in Brazil. So, we are not just waiting, we are acting.”

At Digital Media Europe in London this past April, Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of the family owned RBS Group of Brazil, opened his presentation with that declaration about this dynamic media group. He shares more insights in an in-depth interview.
