World Publishing Expo 2015 returns to Hamburg
World Publishing Expo 2015 returns to Hamburg
2014-06-20
The 45th edition of the World Publishing Expo (former IFRA-Expo and Conference) will return to the seaport city of Hamburg in 2015, from 5 to 7 October, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) announced today.
This will be the third time that the World Publishing Expo, the largest global trade exhibition for the news publishing and media industry, “docks” in Hamburg. Building on its success with more than 10,000 visitors in Hamburg in 2010, the World Publishing Expo 2015 aims to bring top newspaper and news media executives from more than 80 countries to Hamburg for the event.
The decision to choose Hamburg as the venue was made in close consultation with exhibitors. The WAN-IFRA Expo Advisory Council unanimously voted in favour of Hamburg for 2015.
The 2014 World Publishing Expo will be held in Amsterdam, from 13 to 15 October 2014. Full information can be found at http://www.worldpublishingexpo.com
The World Publishing Expo brings together suppliers to the industry with its thought leaders and decision makers. In addition to the exhibition, which showcases the latest technologies, the event features 200 speakers sharing their success stories in a variety of conferences and formats.
Hamburg, a center for media, a city for profit
Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and the 8th largest in the European Union. It has been a trading city from its origin, more than a thousand years ago, and remains Europe’s second largest port and the 10th largest in the world.
Internationally, Hamburg is also known as a creative metropolis and is one of the leading centres of media and information technology, industries that employ about 100,000 people in more than 23,000 companies including Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Stern, Axel Springer Verlag, Bauer Media Group, Gruner + Jahr, Google Facebook and Xing.
Hamburg is easily accessible with many international connections and offers moderate hotel prices. The level of auxiliary costs connected to the exhibition – an increasingly important factor for exhibitors and visitors – is extremely low in Hamburg. Hamburg Messe (www.hamburg-messe.com) offers optimal conditions for the World Publishing Expo and its related conferences, including the 7th Tablet & App Summit, the 13th International Newsroom Summit, and the World Printers Forum.
More than 130 exhibitors have already booked around 6,500 square metres of exhibition space at this year’s World Publishing Expo in Amsterdam from 13 to 15 October. More about this year's Expo can be found at http://www.worldpublishingexpo.com
