Summary

Newspaper mailroom equipment has developed tremendously in recent years, in its functionality as well as in its capacity and space requirements. Its investment value may come close to that of the adjacent rotary press if a shorter life span is taken into account. The aim of this report is to give guidelines to the user on what should be specified already in the sales contract and what has to be checked after completing the installation. But it must be emphasised that this guideline cannot replace a sales contract, nor can its content be taken as a state of the art description because the development of technology is an ongoing process. This report cannot include all details as each mailroom equipment is different with regard to manufacturer, configurations and other arrangements.
