Summary
In 1988, IFRA chose a standard shade for newsprint that should be used by the newspaper printers for their specifications when ordering newsprint. Newsshade 88 has been a widely accepted de facto standard for some years. This standard had been defined by the Scannews Technical Committee in relation to the STFI reference instrument. But a market study made in 1993 showed that at that time,
