Summary

In June 1996, a largely timeless report dealing with the basic principles of colour management systems (CMS) was published as IFRA Special Report 2.18. The CMS suppliers referred to therein continue to dominate the market today. The results of the research project at that time were encouraging and showed that colour management can be used both logically and beneficially for newspaper reproduction.
