Kaango enhances the functionality of The Seattle Times Company’s website NWsource.com

Reading, UK, 27.01.11 — The Seattle Times Company, publisher of The Seattle Times and seattletimes.com, is live using the Atex Kaango online advertising solution to power its classified website NWsource.com (www.nwsource.com). Kaango enables The Seattle Times Company to expand its online classified functionality and offer a truly self-service online experience.

The Seattle Times chose Kaango to help generate more online advertising revenue through paid ad enhancements like feature positioning and additional photos. Kaango also provides a system to manage customer ad management, ecommerce and reporting.

“The product improvements offered by our partnership with Kaango positions NWsource classifieds to compete with Craigslist in our market,” said Denise Lee, Online Product Manager, The Seattle Times Company. “At the same time it still provides our advertising customers with the kind of high-level quality and customer service they expect from their local newspaper.”

Kaango leveraged The Seattle Times Company's experience with their online community to enhance the NWsource.com and Kaango platform user interface.

Lee continued, “We were impressed by Kaango’s openness to our suggestions and the flexibility they provided to help customize the UI to maintain our strong local brand. We look forward to continuing to work with Kaango to build on our success as a local, trusted source bringing together buyers and sellers.”

“We welcome The Seattle Times to the Kaango network,” said Joe Conti, Kaango Chief Operating Officer. “We are delighted to have them aboard and contributing to the more than 1.2 million unique visitors the Kaango network provides services for.”
