04.05.11 - The Jordanian newspaper publisher Jordan Press Foundation has decided to put its trust in a complete Muller Martini mailroom solution for its new production facility in Amman.

In order to optimize the production of their two daily newspapers, “Al Rai” (published in Arabic) and “The Jordan Times” (published in English), Jordan Press Foundation has opened a brand new printing house in Jordan's capital Amman. And to ensure perfect finishing results for pre-printed sections and inserts, the printing house has put its trust in an extensive mailroom solution from Muller Martini. The solution comprises two NewsGrip A newspaper conveyors, a FlexiRoll buffer system, a labelling system from Sitech and a ProLiner inserting system with a CoLiner pre-gathering unit. Thanks to this flexible solution, Jordan Press Foundation is ideally equipped to deal with any fluctuations in insert volumes. What's more, the CoLiner can be upgraded with additional feeder positions at any time, to suit specific requirements.

Jordan Press Foundation is also incorporating a NewsStitch stitching unit with a NewsTrim cutting system into the solution, which will enable them to process semi-commercials and magazines that are similar in appearance to newspapers. These two systems will give the new mailroom the capacity it needs to print additional printed products. The NewsStack stacker including packaging processes (TABA, bottom sheet application, 3/4 film wrap and cross strapping) ensure that the products are safely conveyed toward the loading dock.

The entire system is controlled by the Mailroom Production Control system. MPC, which was developed by Muller Martini, is a simple, clear and flexible system that facilitates complete control and supervision of the mailroom workflow. Production can also easily be monitored over the Internet from an off-site location.
