20.07.11 - Weser-Ems-Druck, based in Oldenburg, in the north of Germany is part of Nordwest-Medien-Holding and since 1982 as independent newspaper printing centre active. On three Wifag web presses, two 48-pages and one 64-pages, all complete four colour, WE produce seven days a week all titles of the Medienholding and several third-party products. Actual WE Druck is printing more than two millions print products a week.
Since 2001 the prepress department and plate making is digital.
Three CTP lines with a capacity of 600 plates/h are supplying the plates for the three presses, more than 700.000 per year.
Planed was a reinvestment in the first half year of 2012. To take care of the necessary reliability of the production process the project team, under the guidance of Peter Rosdorff, Managing Director and Gerriet Schwarting, Production Manager revised the schedule. One new line at short notice and the second one as planed in the first half year of 2012.
A detailed evaluation process takes place. The supplier of the current equipment and other next to DotLine offered and explained their solution and production philosophy.
Investment volume, productivity and overall cost for the anticipated life time, next to reliability of production and service were the main criteria.
In front of all facts WE Druck decided for DotLine, innovative, German technology. DotLine will install CTP System VMAX in combination with a processor from Haase. The first line will be installed in August 2011, second one is advised for first half year of 2012.
