If the project is realised as described in a letter of intent signed by Pressline Services, Inc. and The Columbus Dispatch, the Ohio-based newspaper will become Pressline’s first client for their 3V press conversion.

The press will be converted from a two-around to a three-pages-around configuration. In essence, this will create a compact format, while increasing productivity on the press by 50 percent, Pressline says.

Gannett announced in mid-August that it has signed a letter of intent with The Columbus Dispatch for the possible printing of The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Kentucky Enquirer in a new format. The change would begin in the fourth quarter of 2012 and The Enquirer’s production facility would then close.
