The “World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers” is the result of the merger two years ago of the former WAN and IFRA associations. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of IFRA.

The original purpose for which the international association – at that time called INCA for “International Newspaper Colour Association” – was established in 1961 was to promote the efficient production of high-quality newspapers by optimising technical conditions.
