In addition, the Neue Luzerner Zeitung, published at six locations in Switzerland, decided to implement WoodWing´s publishing system. WoodWing Enterprise is enabling both publishers to increase the efficiency of their workflow. This has been helped even further by the integration of specialized publication planning and advertising management solutions. Zaandam, The Netherlands (September 5, 2011) – WoodWing Software, a leading vendor of cross-media publishing solutions for print, Web, mobile and tablets, announced today that two renowned Swiss newspapers are now using WoodWing´s cross-media publishing system Enterprise for the production of their daily editions and accompanying publications.

Implementation at Tages-Anzeiger marks “mission accomplished” at Tamedia´s headquarter in Zurich

The Tages-Anzeiger staff is the largest editorial team at Tamedia, one of the leading media companies in Switzerland. Founded in 1893, the Tages-Anzeiger is now the leading regional newspaper in Zurich, with a strong national appeal. Every Thursday, the newspaper is accompanied by the entertainment and cultural supplement Züritipp.

The successful implementation at the Tages-Anzeiger marks the completion of the WoodWing Enterprise installation at Tamedia´s headquarter in Zurich – around 750 users produce print and online publications, including the free commuter newspaper 20 Minuten with five regional editions, the investor newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft, and Annabelle, the largest women's magazine in Switzerland.

Simultaneously with the switch to WoodWing Enterprise, dataplan´s page-planning solution JournalDesigner and a system for processing and production of advertisements have been installed – both solutions are tightly integrated with Enterprise.

WoodWing Enterprise and the accompanying solutions have been successfully implemented by WoodWing´s Gold Authorized Solution Partner A&F Computersysteme AG (www.a-f.ch).

Neue Luzerner Zeitung decided for WoodWing Enterprise

After a thorough evaluation, Neue Luzerner Zeitung AG, a subsidiary of the NZZ Media Group, selected WoodWing Enterprise as the new editorial system of the Neue Luzerner Zeitung. The daily newspaper is published in six regional editions with a total circulation of approximately 130,000 subscribers and a reach of 280,000 readers every day.

The most important workflow enhancements include a new concept of regionalization, which was designed and implemen¬ted in collaboration between WoodWing´s authorized solution partner A&F, the Neue Luzerner Zeitung AG, and WoodWing. The new editorial system enables the publisher to produce content for various print and electronic channels from a single application – Content Station, the content management application of Enterprise. In addition, the system will be integrated with the planning, advertising and production system DIG. Both systems will be fully operational in the first quarter of next year at six editorial and two print locations throughout Switzerland.

“WoodWing´s system has an open architecture and leverages proven open-source standards and technologies,” said Jeroen Sonnemans, Managing Director, WoodWing Europe. “Customers demand this flexibility to be able to integrate with their existing environments and quickly adapt to changes in modern media technology, while maintaining a low total cost of ownership. We are pleased to see that our solution meets the high demands of the Tages-Anzeiger and the Neue Luzerner Zeitung.”

WoodWing Enterprise is a true cross-media publishing system, enabling newspaper, magazine and corporate publishers to efficiently create media-rich content and publish it simultaneously to a variety of channels, including print, Web, mobile and tablets. Enterprise includes Content Station, WoodWing's content management and multi-channel publishing tool. The Smart Connection plug-ins provide a seamless integration with Adobe InDesign and InCopy, enabling a highly efficient parallel workflow – a key identifier of the Enterprise publishing system.
